If I could live anywhere.

If I could live anywhere I would live on the International Space Station. I would live there because everything up there is just beautiful. I could stare out the window at the cosmos for hours and then stare out a different window at Earth. I could go on spacewalks. I could fix telescopes and satellites in my spacesuit. I could operate robots with a computer. I could work with giant humanoid robots. I could mess around with the robots. I could research the effects of low gravity on animals, chemicals, even fire. I could research the cosmos. I could sleep whenever I like. I could eat whatever I’d like. I could Skype my friends and family. I could play catch with an astronaut as the ball. I could float around the place like a balloon. I could chase floating M&M’s and catch them in my mouth. I could do anything.

Terry Pratchett, an excellent review, by Anakin Ligman

My favorite author is hands down Terry Pratchett, he is an excellent satirist, (in other words, he makes fun of things) he is incredibly creative, and great with words. When i was introduced to his writing with the book Hogswatch, I fell in love with his writing, I laughed the whole time I read, in fact my mom yelled at me because I was reading until 3 in the morning. Of all his books, I really enjoy the Discworld series, which is technically 39 books. The Discworld Series is a set of smaller series on a world called Discworld, a spinning disc on the back of four elephants on the back of a giant sea turtle that swims through space. My favorite series is the Samuel Vimes series, and my favorite book of this is Night Watch. Samuel Vimes' wife is about to go in labor and Vimes, the head of City Watch, chases a serial killer named Carcer to the top of the University, and a lightning strike hits the Library, causing the immense magic to send the both of them 30 years to the past, where he takes the place of his mentor in the City Watch, on the day of the Revolution of Ankh-Morpork. He goes to the wizards to send him back home, but before he can contact them he is sent to jail by the younger him. He has to protect his younger self, survive the revolution and get home before his wife has his child, did I mention that Carcer is there and is determined to stop him.

What if money were no object (after apple picking is the poem i reference)

Everyone has dreams, something they want to do in life more than anything, but a lot of people don’t go through with it and follow their dreams. But what if money was no object? If money was no object, what would people do with their lives? I like to think that life would be different and people would follow their dreams, but that’s malarkey, a lot of life would be the same, except power is what people strive for (which is what people want now anyways) because money and power are both too ingrained as something that is more important than anything for them to just be thrown out. Some things would never get done, because no one wants to do it and without money as an incentive, no one would do it, nobody likes fixing the sewers or being a garbage man and no one will do it. After Apple Picking is a poem about regrets, sadness, and death, and Robert Frost conveys these emotions through the use of symbolism.
In his poem Frost uses symbolism to help the reader understand what will happen if you don’t do what you want and live your life creating regrets. Frost says in his poem, “And there’s a barrel I didn’t fill/ beside it and there maybe two or three/ apples I didn’t pick upon some bough.” (3-4-5) In this the apples symbolize chances, chances he didn’t take but probably should have. It goes along with the theme of regrets in that he is sad that he didn’t take the chances those apples symbolize. But if these chances are ruined, what will happen?
The poem is all about chances and which ones haven’t been taken or ruined. Frost states, “No matter if bruised or spiked with stubble/ went surely to the cider heap/ as of no worth.” (34-35-36) In these lines he means, even if it isn’t ruined or there is even a chance to take it again, it is worthless for him. These chances are gone, even if they aren’t really.
This poem is all about the road not taken (other Frost reference FTW) and how your life is when you dwell on your regrets, and he uses symbolism to convey the emotions that arise. It is important to understand the message of Frost’s poem so that you know not to have regrets in life because it haunts your dreams, ruins your waking day. If money wasn’t an object I’d do the same thing I plan to now, become an astronaut and research the effects of low gravity on things.

Regrets? Psh! Not From This Guy!

If I could change one thing in my life that has happened, I would change whatever gave me the choice to change things in my past. I do not need to change anything that has happened in my life, nor do I want to. I am the way I am because of every event in my life, and it has been a pretty good one so far and I like the way my life is going. So I would not change anything, because if I am not happy with my past, I am not happy about your life. Life is too long nowadays to spend the whole time regretting things, so I would not change a thing. My life is good and I can acknowledge that because of the adversity I have faced, and it is why I am here now. Without anything bad in life it is impossible to feel the goodness in it, and this is a FACT! So I would not change a single thing, even if I could.

Wub wub wub

My favorite kind of music is dubstep, because it is rhythmic and primal, and it just feels good to listen to dubstep. When I hear dubstep, it is just unreal, and feels right. Most dubstep songs don’t have words (not many anyways) and I like that, it is a whole lot easier to just enjoy the sound, not the words. When there are lyrics over a great sound, and the lyrics are terrible, it makes the whole song so much less enjoyable and kind of ruins it for me. Also, dubstep dancing is so cool looking, seriously. Also, it is really good for fight music in video games. My favorite maker is Skrillex, he’s really good at making dubstep and he makes a lot of dubstep mixes of popular songs. He also has mostly good drops. I really like his songs because they sound like dubstep should, and not like what some people think it is.
I once saw a funny article that had current singers and bands and compared them to their counterpart in the 90’s and Skrillex got compared to an internet modem.

I Speak Da Interwebs

Herpderp the herp flerp.
That translates to: I do not think the government should provide daycare centers to working parents. The government does not have the money for it, and it is abundantly obvious people do not want to pay for schools, let alone free daycare. People will almost never willingly raise taxes, they have the power to reject it and they do. If the government has daycare centers then they are at risk for the giant lawsuits that people have because their kid fell and got hurt. If the working parents are taken care of in this way by the government, the government would be wasting the money it does not have, and probably will not have in the near future. Also, that takes away money from the american people in a much different way, not only does it take away relatively good babysitters jobs, it also takes away money from nanny services.

The One Thing I Value Most In Life

What I value most in life is electricity; electricity helps me in every single part of my day. Electricity powers my TV, which entertains me when I am bored, lulls me to sleep when I am tired and distracts me when I am scared. Electricity powers my computer and it helps me learn, I can find anything I want to know at any time anywhere if I want to. My computer lets me talk to my friends without actually needing to talk to them, which is great for when it hurts to talk. It entertains me, it lets me play games, I can watch TV shows using Netflix and Hulu Plus. It helps me do my work, because my handwriting is so terrible, I have failed assignments, but with my computer, I have never had anyone be unable to read my work. Electric lamps let me stay up later and wake up earlier, by letting me be able to see.

Summertivities

Over the summer I did a lot of things, but what I liked the most was Pedal to the Point. I trained all summer, riding my bike altogether way too much, considering the fact that many people think that they cant even do a mile on a bike.
My mom, unfortunately ended up having an allergy attack on the ride and we could only do half of the ride, we rode past a field getting mowed and my mom got a lungful. She's allergic to a kind of grass that only grows in Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky. Even though thirty-five/thirty-six miles is still a lot, I had a ride that was longer than that when I was training. I was really disappointed, because even though I did a lot, I finished on last years ride and I felt like I had failed. It was just like before I got in to ECHS they made me take the math compass test (I had already done Algebra 1 and Geometry, but they wanted me to take the compass test) and I failed, horribly. The lady in the offices had told me they wanted me to take math 021, remedial math, because I got seven questions, two of which were Algebra 1, the rest being varying levels of trigonometry, calculus and more. I felt so bad I wanted to just break down and cry right there, but my Aunt talked to me and told me that her entire group of PSEO classmates failed that test, and my Mom failed it and then went on to ace a statistics test. I plan on doing Pedal to the Point next year, but I will finish next time, with someone else riding with me instead.
Looking back on this and reading it over, I just realized my summer was terrible if this is my best memory.

My Name is alright, I guess

My Name
I’m annoyed by my first name,
Every time I’m met with the same,
A corny joke,
It makes my head smoke!
I think it is totally lame.

My middle name’s not all that bad,
It was the name of my dad’s dad.
I hear he was a serious man,
My dad was his biggest fan.
I think the name James is rad.

My middle name would’ve been Mercury,
He was a messenger, always in a hurry.
My parents realized it would be weird,
When one friend interfered.
He was known for calming others fury.

My last name comes from a town in Germany.
Surrounded by forests imbued with fervency,
Started in the days of monarchy,
When king was head of the hierarchy.
Yet my name does have a harmony.

My family has a tradition of initials,
Our initials spell out words, mine spell agile.
Our personalities are unremitting,
We unfortunately, keep forgetting.
I have to admit, it’s sometimes beneficial.

Number One Rule

My number one rule is no drama. My reasoning behind it is that it is just a waste of time and really annoying. I think that drama is a waste of time because it interrupts everyone, people don't work well when there is drama, and sometimes people won't work at all. It is annoying because drama is rarely quiet, and I don't want to hear about all of everyone's problems because everyone isn't my friend. That is why my number one rule is no drama.
